The Marine Corps League Pride and Purpose Detachment #1435 is a 501c (4) nonprofit organization. Every year we donate to charitable organizations such as Toys for Tots Fort Wayne and Whitley County, Shepherd's House, Veteran's National Memorial Shrine and Museum, Northeast Indiana Honor Flight paying for the guest of a Marine Veteran, VFW Post 857, Marines helping Marines, African/African-American Historical Society Museum, and many more. To join together as Marine Corps League members to preserve the traditions and history of the United States Marine Corps banding together as Marines who are now actively serving and who have been honorably discharged as a United States Marine, Fleet Marine Force Corpsman or Fleet Marine Force Chaplain promoting the ideals of freedom, American democracy and the Constitution of the United States of America.
Support the mission of the National Marine Corps League and the Department of Indiana Marine Corps League. To voluntarily assist Marines, FMF Corpsman and FMF Chaplains who are now serving; honorably discharged Marines, FMF Corpsmen, FMF Chaplains, their spouses and orphans.
To support local charities, organizations, other community assistance, events in the County of Allen, Indiana and its' adjacent counties as determined by the Board of Trustees and the Membership of Marine Corps League Detachment #1435 Pride and Purpose.
The Marine Corps League perpetuates the traditions and spirit of ALL Marines and Navy FMF Sailors, who proudly wear or who have worn the eagle, globe and anchor of the Corps. It takes great pride in crediting its founding in 1923 to World War I hero, then Major General Commandant John A. Lejeune. It takes equal pride in its Federal Charter, approved by An Act of the Seventy-Fifth Congress of the United States of America and signed and approved by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on August 4, 1937. The League is the only Federally Chartered Marine Corps related veterans organization in the country. Since its earliest days, the Marine Corps League has enjoyed the support and encouragement of the active duty and Reserve establishments of the U. S. Marine Corps. Today, the League boasts a membership of more than 60,000 men and women, officer and enlisted, active duty, Reserve Marines, honorably discharged Marine Veterans, qualified Navy FMF Sailors.
Pride and Purpose Detachment #1435 was chartered March 2, 2016 and is ran by 4 elected officers (also known as the Board of Trustees).
The Marine Corps League is a 501 c(4) non-profit organization. Every year we donate over $15,000 to assist Marines, veterans, and the Fort Wayne community. We rely on donations and sponsors to make this happen every year. Please donate today and check out our outreach page.

On November 9, 2024, Marine Corps League Pride and Purpose Detachment #1435 is hosting the Marine Corps Birthday Ball at the Grand Wayne Center, which is conveniently located in downtown Fort Wayne. Cocktail hour starts at 5:00 pm, with the ceremony starting promptly at 6:00 pm.
